Day 14 2/28/10

Last day of my first 2 weeks and the last day of February. Fitting I think :) Weather is getting warmer and I am anxious to see grass again. I think Artoo is too because he kept asking to go out..way more than normal.

Got in a 30 min workout and it was so much easier than yesterday. I really pushed myself and got in 1.51 miles in the 30 min. That is just under a 20 min mile average. For me, this is awesome! I am really happy with it. Also, it supports my belief that I simply have a harder time working out in the morning. Every time I try, I either get sick or have to force myself.

Starting back to Curves probably tomorrow. I think I will do Curves Mon, Wed, Fri and my C25K workouts on Tues, Thurs, and Saturdays. That will leave Sundays as a rest day.

Got in a 30 min workout today, but I really had to force it. I was ready to give up after 5 min, but I completed it. I have to remember that there will be days like this, but I need to push through and just do it. No excuses...

Day 12 2/26/10

Shocking how many calories one can burn grocery shopping. This was technically a rest day, so I only took a light, 15 min walk at work. I had expected to be under my target for calorie burn, so I ate with that expectation. Went grocery shopping in the evening and ended up well over my target.

This is why I absolutely love the GWF!

Day 10 2/24/10

Mmmm...had Chipotle for dinner. Super yummy but really high in calories. I walked on the treadmill twice at work and once at home to make up for it. Still taking it easier than I would like because of my back. It started feeling a whole lot better in the afternoon and no pain at all when I went to bed.

Week 1 Results

2 pounds down!!!

Other than straining something in my back, it was an awesome week! I lost somewhere between 2 and 5 pounds. When I first started using the GWF on Friday 2/12, the weight I entered was lower then the weight I was when I actually started watching what I ate. I am just going to count the original number though. It is easier that way.

Day 7 2/21/2009

Back hurt a lot today. Did not get in any formal exercise since we went to a zombie movie party at Sara's. Was a ton of fun! We did go shopping, so I got some steps in from walking around the store.

Ugh...somehow pulled or strained a muscle in my lower back. It started hurting yesterday afternoon. Was not easy to sleep and I have had to take it much easier today. I did get in a slow 15 min walk though. It actually seemed to help.

Day 4 2/18/10

What a great day! Had lunch at HuHot with Tim and his mom. Walked 15 min at work and had an awesome 30 min workout at home on the treadmill. I decided that I am altering my C25K a little. The 3rd and 4th week only have me getting up to 20 min walking, but the 5th week has 28 min walking and 2 min running. This seems like a bit of a jump. Instead, I am going to walk 30 min each these next two weeks.

Middleton Haunted Hustle Marathon Ghost Tour

I found a 10K taking place 10/30 so I signed up for it. This will be a great test to see how I am doing two months prior to the half.

Day 2 2/16/09

Tuesday went by really fast. I walked twice at work for 15min each. I am happy to see how fast my stamina is coming back. The first workout I had last Saturday was only 10 min and I was quite winded.
Calories were a little higher because Tim made an awesome dessert. It was shortcake with a fruit topping of oranges, pineapple and strawberries. Major yum! I was still very close to my goal of 1000 deficit.
I had a horrid time sleeping Tuesday night; my sleep efficiency was only 64% (GWF also measures this). I think it was because I was sore. I am just walking right now, but I had not done anything for two months, so it will take a few days to get adjusted I guess. I hate to think how sore I will be when I start back to Curves in two weeks...

Day 1 2/15/09

Well, it was technically an off day on my C25K, but I walked twice at work for 10 min each time. At 8:30, GWF says I have burned 2356 calories. I have eaten 1582 calories, so I will definitely have a 1000 cal deficit for the day. I am a little disappointed that I am burning so slowly, but I do have a desk job, so I should not be too surprised. The GWF has been nice because it has helped me see how all the little things, like parking further from the door, shoveling snow for 10 min, etc, really adds up in calorie burn.

Susan G Komen Race for the Cure 5K

I have signed up for the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure taking place on June 5th, 2010. I will be doing the 5K walk. The Journey Begins!

Well, I just signed up for the Disney Half Marathon taking place June 8, 2011. I am excited and scared all at the same time. I have never been able to keep up with any diet or exercise program for an extended period of time. Will I be able to do this? Right now, my answer is YES! Last week I started using the GoWear Fit (GWF) and also started a conservative Couch to 5K (C25K) program. According to the GWF, I should be able to reach my goal weight March of next year. The C25K program will have me running 3 miles at a time by early to mid August. From there, I have just over 4 months to train for the half; most sites I read indicate 10 weeks is enough. Here we go...lets see how I do.
